Post by JezSai on Thu 23 Feb 2017 - 15:57

I have finalised the details for my annual trip to the Alps if anyone is interested.

Dates Saturday 22nd July to Saturday 29th July

Cost £630 for 7 night s fully catered in a luxury chalet with 5 days guided riding around some of the best Alpine riding to be found in the area. Flights, transfers and lift pass not included. There is loads more Alps information here.

A deposit of £150 secures your place and the balance is due 2 month before we leave, if you are interested ther is a booking form here. With details of how to pay.

To get a feel of the riding there are links to videos from previous years below

Holiday Extras

Post by MikeB on Sat 11 Mar 2017 - 19:08

I have for sale a rather splendid MTB bike bag with wheels used only once by Shirl. I use an almost identical bag which has suited various bikes, tools, clothing and accessories. There are separate wheel bags if required but you have to partially deflate the tyres for 29" wheels. Say, £30?
Also, at a ridiculous price of only £100, I have a 4 wheeled, full-covered trailer ideal for carrying quite a few bikes in total security (unless someone has a tin-opener). It's been stored in our field for ages so it may require a new tyre or so but otherwise ready to go.

I must admit that I was waiting for info on the flights but I'm fairly certain to go if I'm in a fit condition.

OK following up from last night I have been in contact with Mick and we have sorted out the bike transfer. Bikes will be £75 and bags £25, which is cheaper than taking them on the plane.

Please keep the weight of the bag reasonable (20kg)

Bikes and bags to be delivered to Mick's place in Ossett by Thursday evening 13th July as we will be setting off on Friday 14th.

Post if you want to take up the offer.

Ok, I might be up for this now if I can get fit enough.
Went out first time for a trial ride with Martin last night. I got round although Martin showed remarkable patience Rolling Eyes .
So what do I need to know and do? Do we have flights arranged yet?
Let me know if there's still room for an old fart Jez
Thanks
